Everything Goes Faster when Falafel awaits you at the end....Supposedly...

Hello--
So the walk for this past Friday was, *drum roll please!* Walk 7! I know you're all very excited for this development but please, please hold all your applause to the end.
So this walk started off with losing a member of our group to the depths of the metro, never to be seen again. Not really, but we still had to wait for her awhile as she followed the route I figured out for her.

After we had rescued our damsel in distress we walked to the Hotel de Sens, which was closed but it's gardens weren't but we had already taken a quick look as we walked down the street. They were very pretty and the Hotel de Sens looked kind of like a castle, so that was cool.
Then we walked up to the rue de Charlemagne where we saw the remains of the Philippe Auguste wall that once stood around Paris, when it was way smaller. Now the wall has been used as well, a wall but for houses and not for protecting Paris from the unruly barbarians of yesteryears.

After walking by the wall and through a small courtyard called Village St. Paul, which is just a mix of stores, we walked to the church of St. Paul St. Louis.

We went in through the side entrances which was very, very cool because it was all mysterious and hidden.

The Church was really pretty on the inside, I almost liked it more than Notre Dame, even though it's much smaller. On the outside of the main doors of the Church, the church is no longer hidden and it looks really awesome from the front.

The walk then took us down rue Saint-Antoine, which is super busy and used to be an old roman road.
Then we went through the Hotel de Sully out to the Place des Vosges.

At the Place des Vosges we went to Victor Hugo's house and went through the museum.

There were workers cutting the trees into squares, I thought perhaps the trees just grew that way, but nope, they cut them.

The carpet of the Asia room
 Hugo painted these wood panelings.

After Victor's house, we went to the Hotel Carnavalet which is a museum, but we didn't go in because we've already been through it on the first day of class. Anywho so after walking around the outside of some gardens and walking past the Hotel d'Angouleme or Hotel de Lamignon which is now a library.

Then I followed some of the girls to go get Falafel, which is blegh, I don't like Falafel so I got french fries and lemonade instead, which were both very yummy.
Yet another short walk completed! Now on to another!!
Later-
