the Mass that Roch'd the world

For my 2nd Culture Activity me and my friends went to a mass at St. Roch.
It was a very cool cathedral, and at the back had a very cool facade.

The mass itself was fine, there weren't a large amount of people there, but it wasn't like we were the only people there.
The music as always was very pretty, and Natalie got mad at me for recording one of the songs on my phone.

It was an interesting experience, I've been to a mass before and it was basically the same except that this one was in French. It was funny because later Natalie told me what the priest had spoken about. turns out he talked about how Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek, who was... a pagan. And how when Melchizedek blessed Abraham it sounded kind of like a jewish blessing, Did Melchizedek copy Abraham? He also talked about how a 10% tithe is so much and aren't we glad that we don't have to pay it. He also told his congregation to go to the Louvre and look at the Mesopotamia section because there's lots of Old Testament stuff.
Anywho, that pastor was a bit for the birds. I respect the catholic church and their contributions and having been to a different mass before I know that not all Catholic priests are for the birds, but it made me very grateful for the knowledge that I have.

We finished off the mass by singing a lovely Latin chant and then took the metro home.
All in all a pretty good culture activity.
